Job Description:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and performs I & C engineering work for the analysis, specification, design, development, installation, test, maintenance, and repair of real time process monitoring/control computer systems, including digital control systems, and related technical computer software applications for power generating stations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work assignments may include the development and implementation of interfaces, including custom interfaces, with existing plant process systems and equipment. Performs work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and standards, but which may include a variety of conflicting requirements or constraints and difficult coordination requirements. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply software quality assurance requirements and engineering standards to situations which are not straight forward and for which little procedural guidance is available. May function as technical project lead for less complex software systems as assigned including coordinating the work of engineers, systems analysts, programmer analysts, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
Job Requirements:
- Professional engineering license and membership in a professional engineering society is desirable.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by TVAN procedures during peak periods.
- Must be able and willing to travel to plant locations as required when performing assigned tasks and, as necessary, to be temporarily assigned to a field location.
- Demonstrated working-level proficiency in the skills and proficiencies listed above.
- Must be able and willing to assume “on-call” rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability.
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing such as software documentation, procedures, and technical reports.
- Must have demonstrated proficiency in electrical, mechanical, nuclear or chemical engineering as evidenced by completion of Engineering Graduate Progression Plan or equivalent post engineering graduate education and experience.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, or chemical engineering from an accredited curriculum.
