Vacancies exist within the Road & Rail Traffic Control Systems, Control & Information (C&I) team for engineers with a strong interest in signalling control systems. Enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and an aptitude for logical thinking are key attributes for the positions. You will report to one of the Senior Engineering Leaders and work closely with other engineers within the team in a variety of roles.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Practical hand on experience of testing engineering solutions, factory or site, in a rail, communications, electrical or software type environment is desirable
  • An understanding of Signalling & Control System engineering concepts, ideally with experience in both legacy and modern control solutions; electrical or electronics engineers with an aptitude to learn will be considered.
  • IP telecommunication networks and cyber security concepts knowledge is desirable
  • Delivery of projects through the complete life cycle; concept to operational service, using your knowledge of governing standards and industry best practice

Job Requirements:

  • Essential to have the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team but also to work independently where appropriate
  • Degree or HNC in Electronics or Telecommunications or similar subjects with an aptitude for practical & innovative engineering solutions
  • Ability to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and evaluate options, including cost and timescale implications
  • Must be self-motivated
  • An IRSE licence 1.3.260 Signalling Electronic Tester or evidence of working towards attaining is desirable
  • Ability to think strategically and make connections across the business
