Job Responsibilities:

• Primarily, you will be tasked with ensuring all relevant Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to by your Maintenance Team. Supporting the team in all areas on a day-to-day basis by providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to resolve engineering automation issues.
• As the Engineering Team Coach, you’ll provide technical assistance and guidance to the shift manager. You will also provide and deliver technical training, coaching and development to the wider Engineering Maintenance Team.
• Reporting directly to the Maintenance Team Leader and ultimately the Engineering Manager, you will own numerous accountabilities to ensure the smooth running of Automation within Manchester Mail Centre.
• Being able to lead your team on complex fault diagnosis and engineering maintenance tasks to defined standards is important to us, as is your ability to implement these in a cost-effective manner. You will also lead and co-ordinate the implementation of maintenance techniques across the team, ensuring that asset performance and availability design criteria is achieved.

Job Requirements:

• Leading Maintenance Teams or similar groups, ideally with experience of managing a period with considerable change and investment in technology
• Leadership experience gained within a technical environment
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of automation equipment and its maintenance requirements, ideally with experience or an understanding of the equipment used in Royal Mail Letters
• Previous work supporting and developing a maintenance engineering team
• Recognised qualification in an engineering or scientific discipline is desirable
