Job Description:

Royal Mail are looking for an Administrator to join our award-winning Pensions Service Centre in Sheffield, to deliver a professional and efficient Defined Benefits Pensions administration service to members. Job Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for own personal and professional development, ensuring that own technical knowledge remains up to date to enable continued delivery of an excellent service.
  • Communicating member pension entitlements and resolution of member queries.
  • Undertake work in different teams within the Pension Service Centre according to business need.
  • Calculation and processing of members’ benefits based on their entitlements under the rules of the Royal Mail Pension Plan.
  • Delivery of the service to agreed standards, in accordance with Plan rules and HRS service specification.
  • Develop and maintain positive, effective and professional working relationships with customers, clients, stakeholders and Royal Mail colleagues, delivering consistently excellent value-added service.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous Pensions experience would be an advantage.
  • Educated to at least A level standard with strong English Language and Mathematics at GCSE level (grades C to A*).
  • Proven track record/demonstrable record as an experienced pensions practitioner with a broad understanding of pensions legislation, particularly DB and Career Average schemes in a public sector environment.
  • Proven experience of delivering a professional, customer focussed service.
  • In-depth knowledge of all Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrably strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess or be willing to study for a professional Pensions qualification (e.g. Pensions
  • Management Institute APE, CPA or DPA) via a Workplace Pensions Apprenticeship scheme.
  • A track record of working flexibly to ensure that customer requirements are delivered.
  • Proven planning and organisational skills, including experience of delivering to demanding timescales.
