Job Description:
Oversees Ecuador financial management & controllership. Responsible for financial planning and Analysis (FP&A) of Celebrity Vacations and Ecuador Operations, providing support to both the operational leadership in Ecuador and the financial and business leaders at CEL HQ ensuring the business meets commitments on planned Expenses, Capital Investment and G&A spend. Prepares the Celebrity Vacations Operating & Capital Plan, Forecasts and Analysis. Must be able to ensure outstanding compliance with all company policies and communicate and monitor compliance of others as appropriate. Works closely with RCL Corporate teams to execute the Ecuador operation Tax, Compliance, Risk and Accounting requirements as set by the functional areas of the corporate staff. The candidate will also lead an effort to identify synergies & efficiencies between the various RCL owned companies operating in the region. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding analytical abilities, experience with detailed financial analysis, modeling experience, and broad business acumen. Strong statistical and writing skills are required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the tax, accounting and corporate planning groups to ensure all initiatives and updates are addressed and communicated in a timely manner.
- Develop the analysis and communication for Celebrity Vacations & Ecuador operating expenses and G&A for annual and monthly forecasts that support organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership to optimize the financial performance and strategic position for Celebrity Vacations department. Ensure the organization stays on track to meet its annual plans.
- With direction from finance leadership, manage departmental administrative duties such as merit and bonus administration, employee incentive program administration, etc.
- Uses financial analysis and other quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess a broad array of business issues and distills them into key items and proposed actions.
- Analyze and implement with business and operational partners multi-faceted programs and initiatives. This also includes the negotiation of contracts and amendments.
- Oversees Celebrity Vacations Strategic Plan, working with company leaders and stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Gathers and conducts comprehensive analyses of complex data involving competitive information and market analysis to create ideas and actionable recommendations.
- Ensures that financial results are correct, and compliant with GAAP and overall corporate policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley.
- Drives initiatives to enhance company performance, functioning as an internal consultant and facilitator.
- Ensures proper analysis and review of monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting.
- Drives the financial and strategic analysis of potential mergers, acquisitions, sales and joint ventures.
- Oversees monthly accounting activities, including analysis of results vs. plan and forecast.
- Proactively identify and analyze areas of potential improvement. Make recommendations to executives on analyses that will create efficiencies, reduce costs, or improve profitability.
- Work with the Hotel, Marine, and Revenue Accounting Operations team to produce accurate forecasts, analyze actual performance and determine a plan of action for variances.
Job Requirements:
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
- B.A in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Successful track record in financial leadership and 5 to 10 years of management experience
- Full professional proficiency of Spanish language required. Native / bilingual proficiency of Spanish preferred
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with senior level operational personnel
- Must be able to fully integrate into Celebrity’s brand culture
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong command and understanding of all financial metrics and ratios used to evaluate business
- A devotion to continuous improvement
- Financial Management experience from within the travel/tourism/leisure industry. Land Product experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage continuous flow of requests.
- Travel product costings and margin analysis
- Revenue assessments and development
- Knowledge of financial modeling and experience building financial models
