Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Support, Process Improvements, and Team Development – Supports key Finance strategic projects and other Company initiatives as needed.
• Continuously drives efficiencies and improvements in external financial reporting, consolidation, earnings per share calculations and other department processes in accordance with best practices.
• Works with team on identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Continuously develops and trains direct reports to improve soft and technical skills in order to support their growth at JOANN.
• Equity Accounting and Analysis – Oversees the preparation of basic, diluted, and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) calculations including plans and forecasts.
• Reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analysis for share-based awards and other equity activity.
• Internal Control Compliance – Ensures the maintenance of effective internal controls for external financial reporting, consolidation, goodwill and intangible asset accounting, equity accounting, and other areas of responsibility.
• Oversees updates to associated process documentation and the provision of support related to Internal Audit tests of controls.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to self-start, organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced business environment
• Ability to build strong partnerships with various departments, levels of management, and third parties
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of professionalism, especially when dealing with confidential and sensitive financial data
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
