Job Description:
These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC), C5I Service Center, Portsmouth, VA. You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist (CYBER) and be responsible for planning, implementing and operating network services/systems to include hardware and virtual environments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure.
- Implementing new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
- Integrating new systems into existing network architecture.
- Planning, implementing, and operating network services/systems.
- Monitoring network capacity and performance.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of IT/cybersecurity program management and project management principles and techniques
- Skill in implementing and testing network infrastructure contingency and recovery plans
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Selective Service Registration is required - Mastery knowledge and experience with aircraft and/or shipboard communication/network equipment to include configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial satellite telecommunication equipment and services and networking equipment
- Knowledge of concepts, terminology, and operations of a wide range of communications media (computer and telephone networks, satellite, fiber, wireless)
- A Secret clearance is required.
- Knowledge of IT/cybersecurity systems engineering principles
- Ability to apply good project management principles as they relate to contract schedule and performance
