Job Description:

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician. We are looking for a self-motivated technician focused on equipment reliability to increase production uptime. This is a skilled hourly position that requires an individual who can install, troubleshoot and perform electrical maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

Our Savanah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world’s 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. Job Responsibilities:

• Sharing knowledge with other technicians for maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, and controls, troubleshooting, installing equipment at the component level and done in compliance with state company and plant codes, policies, and procedures
• Working on motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems and production machines
• Participating in project planning support and new equipment installation
• Working with operating technicians, mechanics, engineers, and other team members to improve reliability and performance of mill equipment

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of National Electric Code and compliance to the code.
• Experience reading technical drawings, electrical & pneumatic schematics.
• Experience working with variable frequency drives and servo drives
• Experience with systems integration (including PLCs such as RSLogix and RSLinx, HMI, DCS, networking, communication, power distribution).
• Experience in the electrical and/or electronic field in a manufacturing settin.g
• Experience in troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyor
• Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
