Job Description:

The Senior BI Data Engineer will be a part of an international team that designs, develops and delivers new data solutions for Georgia Pacific. The Enterprise Manufacturing analytics and BI team at Georgia Pacific creates value by creating an enterprise capability around highly available information that is accessible, consistent and visual to all manufacturing users so that they can make real-time decisions. This role will help support, maintain and create new solutions to advance manufacturing analytics as we transform to AWS cloud based capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Daily support of the data transformation and aggregation jobs which includes monitoring of ELT jobs
• Document requirements and create system specifications as well as documentation of code.
• Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy
• Build and automate data feeds from source systems like MES, PI and other historian systems across GP to the data lake.
• Develop OLAP Cube and Data Transformation solutions.
• Work directly with stakeholders to analyze requirements, design solutions and use available data to generate reports and metrics.

Job Requirements:

• Data engineering concepts (ETL, data warehousing, near-/real-time streaming, data structures, metadata and workflow management)
• 3+ years of Data Analytics and transformation using SSIS and SSAS.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with queries and scripting for data mining (using SQL, .NET or Python and/or SSAS)
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
