First Republic Bank Jobs San Francisco – Tax & Investments Senior Accountant

Job Description:

This position will focus on the accounting for the Bank’s investment portfolio and the daily clearing and recording of the Treasury function of the bank. This includes, but is not limited to daily and monthly reconciliations, analysis and certification of various General Ledger accounts and research of outstanding items and adjustments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the recording, processing and reconciliation of the Bank’s investment activities (using TPG software), including daily payments and monthly income accruals.
• Assist management on responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
• Assist in providing detailed support to Accounting Management on financial reports and schedules and regulatory reporting such as the 10Q & 10K and the Call Report.
• Assist in various projects as needed.
• Prepare schedules in support of management financial analysis, including trend/variance analysis and write-ups for senior management.
• Perform monthly certifications to certify assigned General Ledger accounts within daily, monthly and quarterly deadlines.
• Prepare journal entries for the clearing of daily wire activity within Treasury function.
• Organize and maintain updated accounting procedures respective to assigned tasks.
• Prepare and File Sales Tax Returns.
• Identify, research, investigate, and problem-solve GL account reconciliation issues.
• Prepare quarterly PBCs to support external reporting function within deadlines.
• Support the accounting team in meeting month end closing in a fast manner.
• Under some circumstances, contact other departments to resolve outstanding issues.

• Oracle and Hyperion knowledge desired
• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Knowledge in investment accounting a plus

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to execute tasks, handle multiple priorities and respond quickly to meet deadlines

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Banking Environment
