This Senior HR Consultant – Employee Relations position’s focus is Employee Relations (ER) consulting work with a focus on HR Policies, Programs and Practices. This role will provide a broad range of professional employee relations support, interacting with all levels of leadership and independent discretion in decision making and execution of responsibilities.

This is the career/senior level of the HR Consulting classification hierarchy.  Employees at this level manage work in human resource areas of specialization, with minimal supervision.  Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement items
  • Performing ongoing benchmarking of HR policies and provide revision recommendations as needed in support of HR and enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert for assigned HR Program such as Severance, Medical Accommodations, Unemployment, Data Privacy, Alcohol & Drug Testing, etc.
    HR Policy interpretation
  • Engaging Legal and other HR stakeholders as needed to ensure appropriate decisions are made and risk to the Company is minimized
  • Other duties as assigned in support of the Employee Relations, as well as the broader Human Resources team
  • Development of new policies, programs, initiatives or toolkits as required by the needs of HR or the enterprise
  • Act as Employee Relations Subject Matter Expert on HR Incident Management Team
  • Assisting Investigations team in performing compliance-based workplace investigations
  • Providing HR Consulting to the Consultants – providing daily and ongoing Employee Relations support to assigned HR teammates in the HRBP/HRCS organizations on
  • HR related matters such as corrective actions, HR policy interpretations, and various employee issues
  • Presentation of ER initiatives and updates to various levels within the HR organization

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information/situations
  • In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND five (5) years minimum related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND nine (9) years minimum related work experience
  • Proficient in the use of EthicsPoint case management tool
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • In addition to required degree, five (5) years minimum related work experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Knowledge of and experience in Employee Relations
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and/or Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
