Job Description:

The Hawthorne DMV Field Office is seeking a well-organized, self-motivated, flexible, and skilled individual who possesses good time management, and is interested in a challenging, yet rewarding job experience performing the duties of a Control Cashier II.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent receives and deposits fees collected by employees
  • Prepares bank deposits
  • Audits employee registration transactions
  • Issues registration indicia
  • Maintains office accountable inventory items; maintains pertinent files and logs
  • Trains Control Room relief personnel
  • Acts as a liaison between the office and CPD Help Desk, Inventory Management, and Accounting
  • Is responsible for the integrity and security of the control room.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Vehicle/Vessel Registration and Driver License processing
  • Sections in the California Vehicle Code and Accounting procedures of the DMV
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Cashiering skills
  • Ability to act independently
  • Analytical skills; experience in operating an electric adding machine
  • Personal computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word).
