Job Description:
Reporting to the President of Commercial Finance, the Senior Vice President for Capital Equipment Finance will lead a team of direct and indirect originators that provide equipment loans and leases for transactions ranging in size from $3 million to $100 million and more.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct prospect meetings and ultimately issue deal proposals by applying an understanding of the prospect’s industry and unique financial needs Partner with the underwriting team to tailor solutions to meet the prospect’s unique needs while effectively managing CIT’s risk exposure; manage prospect expectations throughout the deal process ensuring a successful close
- Identify and attend relevant and appropriate industry and regional events and trade shows for networking and new business opportunities as appropriate
- Identifying opportunities to cross-sell products/services which include deposits and cash management services.
- Additional responsibilities include developing solid working relationship with prospective borrowers, key referral sources
- Responsible for managing a team of business development officers, contract administrators and underwriting
- Actively participating in the completion of major transactions
- Support CIT’s focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company
- Work with the Business Development Officers and Sales Management Team and research and identify new and viable direct prospect opportunities. Originate transactions through direct calling on companies
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated presentation sales, negotiation and influencing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field required, MBA desired.
- 5 years’ experience managing a high-performance sales executive team
- A general knowledge of lending deal structuring
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively to achieve team goals
- Ability to source leads and convert prospects to clients
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to develop and maintain a contact database and maintain records in SalesForce.com
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Business Banking / Commercial Lending; Capital
- Markets, Equity Markets, Equipment Finance and Leasing transactions.
