Job Description:

Casey’s is seeking a Director, IT Merch/Supply Chain Engineering to provide strategic leadership and direction of multi-site, (onshore and offshore) and multi-product engineering and solution architecture teams across a diverse landscape, while partnering with the product management team to deliver products and platforms which accelerates Merch/Supply chain product engineering while fostering an environment which allows for a test and learn culture.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering and solution architecture teams to create robust and reliable solutions that deliver against an ambitious product roadmap for Merch/Supply chain technologies
• Enact a strategic plan for developing and empowering team members with processes that result in improvements to code quality, security (OWASP), efficiency, velocity, systems, and engineering processes.
• Build and lead a team of high caliber engineering teams for Fuel, Merch and Supply chain. Enable and drive engineering culture. Set a plan and timeline for how engineering organization can evolve.
• Set and capture metrics that measure the success of the engineering teams and products.
• Lead a highly skilled team to transform the Merch/supply chain architecture and technology stack into a platform that can support a suite of applications and services
• Lead the effort to build the right resource plan comprised of a mix of team members, contract, and offshore labor to drive effectiveness and efficiency. Build organizational capability within function by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development.
• Provide technical leadership to organization, including application architecture design, code reviews, release responsibilities, production support, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Must have experience with managing a complex portfolio of products and ability to optimize resource allocation based on platform strategy, product goals and business goals.
• At least 10+ years of demonstrated success leading teams to architect, develop and maintain complex custom build, SaaS and ERP using modern lean/agile product development techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems); advanced degree is a plus.
• Leadership experience across technologies related to package solutions, ERP (like Oracle retail), SaaS
• Must have strong understanding of modern platform architectures and emerging technologies.
• Experience building, scaling, application and SaaS solutions.
• Must have strong experience in a high availability, high transaction environment.
• Experience managing vendor relationship.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Understanding of cloud platform and building applications that operate in multiple availability zones and regions.
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills at all organization levels as well as strong leadership, team building, and people management skills to build a high-functioning organization.
• Solid understanding of modern technology framework and be able to coach/mentor teams in modern best practice
