Job Description:
This job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success. As part of this role, you will design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, evaluate, support, and modify internal, end-user tools/applications (i.e. self-service website tools, systems that model business concepts, business intelligence applications etc). Working with existing system architectures, you will be expected to confidently maintain, extend, and enhance existing data models and code in ways that extend the functionality of applications, improve business processes, and help end users do their jobs better.
Job Responsibilities:
- Expand and improve our world-class supply chain systems to support a variety of emerging business initiatives.
- You use object-oriented design concepts to program large multi-tier systems.
- Use Test-Driven Development and Continuous Deployment.
- Work with senior leaders across multiple technical and business teams to design and build solutions for managing Amazon’s transportation network.
- Experiment with whatever technology we need to get the job done.
- You have experience implementing best practices in improving team coding culture subjected related to quality and/or security.
- You design your solution at the product and business level with heavy involvement through all phases of the SDLC using concepts that may include Service Oriented Architecture, caching, load balancing, relational and non-relational databases, micro services, n-tiered architecture, cloud and/or map-reduce.
- Effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to non-technical audiences.
Job Requirements:
- Solid expertise in data structures and algorithms
- 3+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment
- Programming experience in C, C++, or Java and deep understanding of object-oriented design.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
- Experience with working and deploying scalable, highly available systems
- Unix or Linux experience
