Job Description:

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Engineer/Project Manager for employment in the Orlando, Florida office (to work in client’s office in Maitland, FL). This position would support our client’s needs with respect to engineering/project management for natural gas pipeline operations and maintenance projects (anomalies, hydrotests, casing short remediations, class changes, valve change outs, etc.) in the Florida region. Position will require working in a client’s office on a full time basis (40hrs/week).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under supervision of client senior leadership;
  • Providing financial oversight, and revising projects to reflect changes in cost forecast exceeding approved tolerances;
  • Coordinating with Specialists, Operations (Project Team, Managers, and Directors), Gas Control, Planning, Marketing, and customers to reduce or eliminate any outages to customers;
  • Assisting Field Operations and team personal with engineering problems, code interpretation, and questions;
  • Providing technical support for right-of-way permitting and acquisition including the preparation and review of road and railroad crossing permit drawings and the review of property plats used to acquire the necessary right of way and temporary construction work space for assigned projects;
  • Providing technical support for environmental permitting including the preparation and review of wetland permit drawings, quadrangle maps, right of way arrangement drawings, and construction temporary workspace drawings;
  • Reviewing as-built drawings for code and specification compliance;
  • Performing technical reviews of vendor material quotations, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications and procedures;
  • Preparing project cost estimates, scopes of work, and scheduling;
  • Bring flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best meet the needs of AECOM and its clients;
  • Providing project management services in accordance with applicable Federal Regulations, Company Engineering Standards, Standard Operating Procedures, and other pipeline industry standards and specifications;
  • Preparing weekly reports on project activity, tracking project costs and schedules, and reporting results to management;

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with natural gas pipelines a plus.
  • The ability and desire to interact with clients and agency representatives
  • BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Candidate must be flexible and willing to support multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment where changing client priorities result in the need to determine creative ways to get the job done.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team; be innovative and a problem solver.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other closely related discipline
  • The ability to work in a client’s office and communicate efficiently to the client.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
