Job Description:

These are Southwestern Region Regional Office positions however the duty locations will be negotiated after selection. Serve as Grants Management Specialists responsible for all aspects of awarding and administering grants and agreements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop instruments, request proposals, analyze responses and make or recommend acceptance by higher authority.
  • Examine appropriate legislative and program authority prior to execution of each grant or agreement.
  • Negotiate grants and agreements within the limits of delegated authority.
  • Provide interpretation of laws and regulations concerning use of Federal funds and qualifying program expenditures.
  • Approve all grants and agreements for the unit, as well as notification(s) of funding availability within the limits of delegated authority.
  • Approve case-specific official correspondence sent to partners, program personnel, and other interested parties.
  • Stay abreast and review changes to policies, regulations, and legal authorities affecting grants and agreements, administration and performance reporting.
  • Assist in evaluating proposed legislation to determine extent of probable impact to processes and objectives.
  • Responsibilities listed are at the full performance level
  • Perform administrative tasks related to a wide variety of partnership and cooperative agreements.
  • Participate in establishment of internal administrative and financial controls or systems.
  • Participate in review of the effect of changes in laws, regulations, and policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
  • Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
