Job Description:

The role of the Finance Business Partner is to develop and drive the financial strategy & business performance of certain brands and lead cross category projects. The finance business partner may attend Brand Leadership Teams or other Leadership Teams and will focus on the finance aspects of those agendas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify major risks and opportunities
  • Lead team of 1 or more WL1s and support the setting of the PC Finance Analyst workplan and fully utilise the Category FET as it is set up and take responsibility for resource allocation of business partners within the team.
  • Partner with Categories to complete active portfolio reviews
  • Partner with Brand Directors in business modelling, P&L forecasts, competitor benchmarking, shadow P&Ls
  • Review impacts of performance interventions
  • Identify value opportunities that require a particular intervention / project support from Finance Business Partner resources and allocate resources as appropriate. Likely to include GM, Pricing, ROMI, market development.
  • Identify major risks and opportunities
  • Business case development and benefit realisation for project investments.
  • Partner the GBVP on the strategic planning process
  • Drive better decision making around resource allocation and budget setting. Support on prioritisation and activation of a ZBB (Zero Based Budgeting) mind-set within the Category and Brand. Driving accountability within the teams and the right service level support from the FET.
  • Dynamic resource allocation to meet Category growth priorities.
  • Partner with Categories to complete active portfolio reviews
  • Strategically influence senior stakeholders
  • Partner the GBVP on the strategic planning process
  • Partner with Brand Directors in business modelling, P&L forecasts, competitor benchmarking, shadow P&Ls
  • Commercially shape the medium to long term direction of their respective brands or pillars.
  • Review impacts of performance interventions
  • Identify value opportunities that require a particular intervention / project support from Finance Business Partner resources and allocate resources as appropriate. Likely to include GM, Pricing, ROMI, market development.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Demonstrated competency at growing and developing people / teams
  • Experience in driving P&L performance improvements (e.g. closing gaps vs. target) and holding others accountable (particularly peers and senior leadership)
  • Experience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior leaders within the organisation
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to respond under pressure.
  • Experience in financial, operational and business partnering roles preferably within BB, SC or CD.
  • Professional finance qualification equivalent to CA, CIMA, ACCA.
  • Experience in managing a large and complex set of stakeholders
  • Experience of working in multi-national teams and/or a virtual team environment would be an advantage.
