Job Description:

As an IT Projects Business Analyst, you will sit in the Shell Energy Trading team for an assignment related to analytics within the IT Engineering team. You will be working in the trading space and hence someone with prior trading experience/exposure will be preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coaches at least 1 IT BA.
  • Has knowledge of how competitors are using IT solutions to gain competitive edge, applies that knowledge to projects.
  • Able to link technical solutions with business strategy when working with business partners.
  • Leading stakeholder management activities. Creates opportunities to make the stakeholder feel valued and develop trust.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge, often in own specialized field, to provide interpretive, advisory, or facilitating services for the use of others to achieve results.
  • Participates in industry IT BA related activities such as BA webcasts and/or chapter meetings and applies learnings within Shell including sharing of learnings.
  • Volunteers for community leadership roles. Supports the regional networks through leading activities, presenting topics, and coaching others
  • Participates in team effort to create new best practice material based on identified gaps. Serves as an SME for specific tools, techniques, or business areas.

Job Requirements:

  • Exposure to Native cloud development – someone who has worked in such environment before.
  • Knowledge and skill of business analysis techniques and tools.
  • Clear and concise communication.
  • Knowledge of scripting; Python/R would be an added advantage.
  • Influential at team level through oral presentations, business cases, and investment proposals.
  • Solid knowledge of data and analytics, data modelling, data reporting and visualization using cloud native tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business process improvement, benefit, and risk management.
  • Agile project experience.
  • Extensive corporate IT experience and IT BA experience.
  • Sound knowledge of different data schemas, experience in prototyping and productionizing data reporting tools
  • CCBA or PMI-PBA certified preferred or working to achieve CCBA or PMI-PBA certification. Working to achieve CBAP if preference is to remain on IT BA career path.
