As a Data Scientist within the Fraud Analytics Group within PNC's Retail Lending Organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chicago, Illinois, Tyson's Corner, Virginia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Atlanta, Georgia, Dallas, Texas, Washington, DC, Cleveland, Ohio or within the PNC Footprint. As a member of the Retail Lending Fraud Strategies team you will use advanced statistical and analytical techniques to defend PNC against new and emerging fraud threats. In this role, you will drive quantitative analysis on diverse topics, make recommendations, and support the efforts to build and document analytical processes. You will collaborate with line of business, data engineers, model risk management and Finance partners to transform statistical analyses into actionable fraud risk mitigation initiatives. Job Responsibilities: Develops algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques like machine learning to predict business outcomes and recommend optimal actions to management. Participates in the data gathering, data processing and data mining of large and complex datasets. May partner with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Visualization Experts to develop data-driven solutions for the business. Performs analytical tasks on vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to extract actionable business insights. Runs analytical experiments in a methodical manner to find opportunities for product and process optimization. Assists in the presentation of business insights to management using visualization technologies and data storytelling. Job Requirements: Strong programming skills in Python and or SAS BS/BA in a STEM related field. Masters and PhD are a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to tell a business story with data to a variety of audiences. Ability to partner, collaborate, listen and recommend solutions. Strong quantitative problem solving skills 3+ years experience working quantitatively with large data sets/focus on data engineering and experience working with models Knowledge of financial industry and or banking products is a plus.
