As an Underwriting Director (non-management) you will provide subject matter expertise on underwriting assignments and projects. They are responsible for underwriting life insurance applications within their designated approval limit of up to $20,000,000 to age 85. They evaluate and assess complex risks to determine whether to accept an insurance application and determine the appropriate coverage/risk. This position will adhere to medical, non-medical, and financial guidelines while determining an individual's insurability. Job Responsibilities: Identifies trends/issues and offers solutions on complex issues, including appeals and exceptions to meet customer needs while ensuring alignment to business strategies. Enhances departmental outcomes by sharing knowledge with team members and providing advice on complex underwriting determinations. Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility. Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility. Determines whether to accept, modify, or decline a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazard, and financial background. Job Requirements: 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - 5 7+ Years Individual Life Underwriting experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities of this position.
