Job Description:

The Program in Genetic Epidemiology and Statistical Genetics (PGSG) focuses on the genetic dissection of complex human diseases. The Program gives special emphasis to deciphering the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer to improve our capacities for cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, as well as prevention. We also conduct research on other chronic diseases and on new methods in statistical genetics in collaboration with colleagues at the School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, The Broad Institute, and elsewhere. Our innovative research group is comprised of Harvard faculty, research fellows, doctoral students, biostatisticians, and research assistants.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Draft, prepare, and proofread program documents, including progress reports, technical reports, grant related material, support letters, manuscripts, etc.
  • Coordinate progress reports and ethical approvals by compiling data and resources needed for grant applications and maintenance
  • Document and update project work plans, track progress, and ensure timelines are met
  • Identify obstacles to programmatic success in a timely fashion, implement problem-solving actions as needed
  • Provide overall research, administrative, and operational support to PGSG faculty and researchers
  • Provide dataset maintenance for various systems to ensure compliance, make amendments to the platform and associated ESTR submissions
  • Coordinate research team meetings, create meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items
  • Manage IRB (Institutional Review Board), DUA (Data User Agreement), and DAT (Data Safety Submission) for the program. Prepare applications, track submissions, make amendments, and ensure project compliance
  • Perform calendar management and complex scheduling for multiple faculty members via Google Suite & Outlook

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with and/or understanding of the IRB (Institutional Review Board) process and ESTR system a strong plus
  • Experience working with EndNote a plus
  • Experience working in and/or interest working in research, medical, or public health setting
  • Experience and comfortability with using multiple computer systems & especially Microsoft Office Suite; experience with systems such as Adobe, Concur, Buy2Pay, WordPress
  • Bachelor’s Degree
