Job Description:

Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Naheola mill in Pennington, AL is seeking qualified professionals to be consider for our Shift Performance Coach role in the Power and Recovery area of the mill. This position will play an intricate part in the leadership and development of a 12-employee team of hourly production employees that provide the electricity, steam, water, air, and puling liquor that allows us to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, self-directed person with a strong desire to excel in a leadership role; possess good interpersonal skills; motivate teams by influencing and building partnerships to always meet or exceed expectations; and have strong communication, planning, and organizational skills. Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the Utilities system (steam, electrical, water, air and liquor inventories) during the shift and make the appropriate changes to minimize any impact to overall Mill operations
• Engage with other operating department Shift Performance Coaches daily to discuss problems that have an impact on the performance in other operating areas
• Lead operational and shift maintenance initiatives to achieve maximum asset capability for speed, uptime, and reliability
• Plan and direct work for hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback on an on-going basis; hold employees accountable in a fair and consistent manner; communicate issues and results daily to crew members
• Monitor the environmental perimeters and understand the permit limits to ensure compliance
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions and acts – recognize positive safety performance as well as individual and team contributions to a safer workplace
• Approve the employees time and make adjustment in MyHR as necessary
• Coordinate the startup of the mill from unexpected events or outages
• Understand and apply the Union Labor contract

Job Requirements:

• Associate degree or higher
• Five (5) or more years of work experience in Power and/or Recovery operations
• Must work 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
• High School diploma or GED
• Three (3) or more years of supervisory and/or leadership experience in a manufacturing facility
• Pulp and Paper Mill work experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel
