Job Description:
The Regulatory Technician maintains, updates, and stewards environmental and regulatory obligations with the use of the compliance databases. The position assists in ensuring that all obligations in the databases are stewarded to closure in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze Environmental Permits, Plans, Licenses etc. for input into Compliance Database
- Assist Responsible Persons with understanding the actions required for compliance with obligations
- Upload annual emissions per project into the database
- Upload Stakeholder engagements in the database
- Assist with Environmental monitoring by ensuring Contractors input the environmental data into the database
- Maintain, update, and steward the compliance databases for tracking obligations provide support to others in the use of the databases
- Assist with regulatory compliance assessments
- Provide training to users of the regulatory compliance databases as required
- Upload Environmental incidents into separate database
- Upload new law documents/approvals and create new obligations and assign to various disciplines.
Job Requirements:
- Good interpersonal skills and effective organizational skills
- Basic understanding of Guyana Acts and Regulations, as it relates to environmental regulations
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Science, Computer Science, or similar
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in environmental and regulatory related activities
- Good team builder
- Proficiency and knowledge in database management, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint
- Good communication skills
