Capital One Hiring – Sr Accounting Associate

Job Description:

This role will assume the ownership of accounting and data management for Investment Banking transactions for Capital One Securities. Candidates should have the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to develop strong relationships with key business partners. Additionally, this role will assist in transitioning to an automated accounting and reporting platform. Candidates should possess the ability to identify technology options and drive implementation of automation solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare/review schedules supporting SEC/FINRA/Regulatory Reporting as well as other ad hoc reporting requests
• Assist with preparing monthly FINRA FOCUS and quarterly Supplemental Statement of Income (SSOI) reports
• Prepare quarterly FR Y-15, Banking Organization Systemic Risk Report, on behalf of business
• Perform Investment Banking revenue accruals, compensation accruals and adjustments
• Record journal entries and prepare monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in coordination of resources and implementation of financial reporting for new Investment Banking sectors and products
• Review month end trial balances and affiliate balances to ensure reporting accuracy
• Perform month-end close and financial reporting processes timely and accurately

Job Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Hold FINRA Series 7, 10, 24, 27, or 79 License or any combination
• Experience with Data Visualization (Python or other)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
