Job Description:

The role holder will work with Supplier Managers/SM Team Lead to directly manage or support the management of suppliers in line with Barclays External Supplier Management Standards and help meet the associated risk, cost and service parameters defined for the Supplier Management function. The person will provide a range of high quality analytics work and support services to enable senior team to effectively deliver the objectives and strategy of the Supplier Management function, and contribute towards the development of ‘best in class’ supplier management capability for the bank.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build an understanding of the specific cost, risk & service parameters which underpin the supplier service and use this knowledge to identify / deliver improvements
  • Perform the assigned Supplier Management responsibilities for suppliers based out of various geographies
  • Ensure compliance to External Supplier Management Standards and applicable regulatory requirements for the 3rd party supplier relationships managed
    building an understanding of the key commercial elements within the supplier contract using this to ensure value is achieved where possible.
  • Be flexible in picking up additional responsibility to support the team
  • Support other Supplier Managers in delivering ‘best in class’ supplier management function for the group’s strategic and / or operational 3rd party suppliers
    acting as a key point of contact for internal clients in respect of requirements for variations to services / contract, ensuring these are clearly distilled and documented;
  • Providing an interface into the supplier in respect of required variations to services, ensuring necessary discipline / agreed change acceptance methodologies are deployed at all times and
  • that all activities meet the desired cost, risk & service parameters;

Job Requirements:

  • A Graduate or Post Graduate as on the date of application
  • Previous experience of managing Global (and virtual) stakeholders
  • Understanding of cost, risk & service parameters
  • Industry / market knowledge of the sector
  • Knowledge of Contractual/Commercial arrangements within Industry /Market
  • As a minimum – completion of B2 Level certification from Max Mueller Bhavan or equivalent diploma/certification in German language
  • Understanding of risk and control frameworks and of Operational Risk policies & standards
  • Ability to read, write and converse in German language
  • Procurement/Supplier Management/Risk/Analytics background required
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English; confident and articulate
