Job Description:

The Payment Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of ACH Operations and Payment Operations SupportTeams. The Manager’s primary focus is ensuring that the respective processing teams consistently meet operational processing goals and timeframes necessary to successful process payments and information on behalf of our clients and the bank’s needs. This requires ensuring that processes are well documented, that the staff is adequately trained, roles and responsibilities are clearly articulated and the necessary tools are available for the team to be effective.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Devise plans with colleagues to cross train employees across different payment types to enable a future team enabled to process any payments.
  • Leads and oversees payment processing teams in their operational performance, holding them accountable for qualitative and quantifiable results.
  • Monitors and reports on Service
  • Level Standards performance and other KPI’s.
    Assesses needs of department and related roles/responsibilities and skill sets required.
  • Hires  key talent and coaches Team Leads, Analysts and Supervisors to effectively perform in their roles and ensure a productive, transparent and healthy environment.
  • Provides insights and communicates to team on a regular basis.
  • Provides supervision to and directs the activities of their employees; performs supervisory tasks such as performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; develops work schedules; provides necessary training and coaching.
  • Partners with payment product and operations managers in adopting new product feature/functionalities, new clearing channels and onboarding new payment types (RTP, Zelle, FedNow, etc.).

Job Requirements:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules, Regulatory requirements and FFIEC guidance surrounding payments.
  • AAP Required, CTP Preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced project assignment management skills.
  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from a college or university with 6-8 years banking operations to include deep expertise in payments or 8-10+ years banking operations experience to include deep expertise in payments.
  • Computer skills (fluency with traditional software programs like Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of TPS/TPPP guidance is highly desirable.
  • HOA, PMC experience preferred.
  • Intermediate-advanced knowledge of general banking, including understanding of bank products, services, and regulations, policies and procedures.
