Walmart Careers – Machine Learning Platform Manager

Job Description:

As a part of the platform team, you will develop and own one or more areas of road map for Walmart’s platform products. The platform will ensure we have a robust lake storage system, feature-rich data pipeline, strong metadata, data governance, and security enforced in the platform, & improve self-service to leverage data in the lake for consumption & advanced machine learning through state-of-the-art Data Science tools. In this process, the product manager is expected to perform market research, stakeholder interviews, discuss pain points with customers, create design and enable developers to deliver a world-class platform for Walmart. You will be looked upon as a single point of contact across the US & Bangalore for driving the product to prioritize the right set of features, align them to business needs, and market appropriately to improve adoption.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop external & internal market analysis and fitment
• Own and drive analyst relationships, where applicable
• Manage & drive partner roadmap relationships
• Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects
• Ensure business needs are met
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
• Support product implementation and deployment
• Develop and champion product strategies for one or more complex platform components, and roadmap for one or more platform product areas in support of architectural vision and principles established
• Do in-depth build vs buy, partner analysis, open-sourcing, & go-to-market strategies

Job Requirements:

• Prefer experience in one or more of the following areas: Big Data (familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, BigQuery, Spark, Presto, etc.), Cloud ecosystems (Azure, GCP, AWS), Data Quality and Governance, Cloud Security and Privacy, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to senior executives
• Result oriented and ability to lead products with a favorable outcome
• Proven experience leading products from concept through sales or user adoption
• Solid understanding of how to build & market scalable platform solutions in the cloud to be used by multiple customers
• Must have experience owning product roadmaps and influencing partner roadmap
• Good experience of working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner
