Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer located in Portage, Michigan. Hybrid or Onsite work options available

Job Responsibilities:

• Be a key contributor to the software development process for embedded medical devices
• Develop embedded software for devices to be used by hospital staff
• Perform associated software development tasks such as requirements development, configuration management, issue/bug tracking and risk management
• Develop, manage, and maintain development tools and build environment
• Support configuration and release management
• Assist team with configuration management tools strategy/usage and act as interface to administrators
• Assist with architecture development of real-time and non-real-time software, owning the design, implementation, and testing of software modules
• Create and maintain infrastructure platform that facilitates continuous integration, automated builds, and automated build verification testing to support medical device systems and software solutions across multiple business units and new product development project teams

Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge of software development methodologies
• Knowledge of standard communication data protocols (UART, USB, I2C, Ethernet)
• Good organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of software reliability, fault detection/isolation, and performance algorithm techniques
• Knowledge of software automation production systems, including code deployment

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience in HW/SW development for embedded Linux systems
• Experience developing in a controlled environment under configuration management
• Minimum 4 years of related experience
• Experience with DevOps, SysAdmin or System Administration, and Linux build servers
• Experience using toolchains, supporting, and developing with the following applications: Perforce, Jira, Bamboo, Git/Bitbucket, GitLab, Crucible, Crowd, Confluence
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience developing production software in a team environment using C, C++, or a similar language
