Job Description: The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team and processes. This position reports to the Associate Director of Procurement & Sourcing. Job Responsibilities: Establish and maintain strong and cohesive relationships with business partners ensuring we are providing great customer service and addressing ad-hoc analysis/requests as appropriate. Lead the Accounts Payable team, including but not limited to, hiring, training, developing and coaching staff, including monitoring and evaluating performance and recommending and implementing personnel actions. Assign and monitor workload, ensure high accuracy of coding transactions, maintain low backlog of unprocessed transactions. Recommend and implement efficiencies and process improvements, and ensure adherence to organizational Policies and Controls. Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle from invoice receipt to vendor payment. Effectively collaborate with internal customers and external suppliers to ensure deadlines are achieved and timely payments are issued, answer inquiries and resolve discrepancies. Manages month-end tasks, recording and/or reviewing of accruals, reconciliation of the AP Trade Account. Assist with the coordination and gathering of documents to support auditors requests. Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations (including 1099’s and 1042's) and reporting requirements. Job Requirements: Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions. Knowledge of the practices, techniques and equipment used on the job. Accounting principles (GAAP), laws and regulations. Accounting close processes. Reconciliation preparation and review. Analytical skills with large volumes of data. Ability to effectively lead, including training, coaching, mentoring and motivating team. Time management and organization skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with high attention to detail. Proficiently use a variety of computer programs and accounting or related software. Problem solve, and skilled in conflict resolution. Ability to make decisions and find alternative solutions to problems. Work effectively both independently and in a diverse team environment. Provide a high level of customer service.
