Job Description:
Supporting the Director and Managers of Global Tax Strategy with the global tax strategy of the RCL Group of companies and related projects. The functions include monthly and quarterly forecast of global tax expense and business plan tax projections; BEPS Action 13 and related filings; tax research and tax documentation of projects and transactions; tax presentation of tax strategies; FIN 48 (ASC 740-10) documentation; assistance with global tax audits and on a limited basis support tax provisions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform tax research of existing or proposed transaction and projects and document research in technical memorandum.
- On a monthly and quarterly basis consolidate the tax expense forecast for the international subsidiaries and repots variances analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of the BEPS Action 13 file and the filing of related notifications worldwide.
- Prepare the calculation of assigned companies income tax forecast, and performs variance analysis monthly.
- Support the Director Global Tax Strategy and/or Global Tax Operations in consulting regularly with internal departments such as international finance, legal, accounting, commercial development and foreign offices on transactions, contracts, business arrangements, etc.,
- Support the Director and Managers, Tax Strategy in maintaining and supporting documentation or data necessary for global tax audits.
- Support the Director and Managers, Tax Strategy to ensure tax positions or new business initiatives / structures are correctly reported on timely filed tax returns and income tax provisions.
- Support Director and Managers, Tax Strategy in advising executive management of the tax implications of business activities and initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently under remote supervision.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Excellent judgment and the ability to make decisions and assess acceptable levels of business risk.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Degrees: Accounting bachelor degree, advanced tax degree preferred.
- Typical PC and software skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, on-line research tools.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
- Experience: minimum two years’ experience in Public Accounting or five years industry experience in Tax Department.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Certifications: Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, CPA or Juris Doctor preferred
- Strong technical research skills.
