Job Responsibilities:

• Detailed review of monthly statements and CAM recons from the landlord and identify discrepancies. Communicate with the legal department and landlord to determine appropriateness of additional billings. Meet with legal department, as needed, to obtain advice on audit/disposition of CAM disputes
• Ensure timely completion of scanning and indexing documents by lease accounting processor
• Prepare general ledger accounting reconciliations for accruals, prepaid rent and misc.
• Work on project related to implementation of ASC 842/IFRS 16
• Review account reconciliations of lease accounting processor prior to manager/supervisor review
• Ensure lease payments, common area maintenance (CAM), and other lease related expenses are reasonable and paid timely
• Prepare journal entries as required for lease accounting month-end
• Coordinate with lease accounting processor to ensure all appropriate maintenance is complete prior to payment processing
• Review journal entries prepared by lease accounting processor prior to manager/supervisor review
• Collaborate/Coordinate/Work on other special projects as needed

Job Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of field and Support Center team members as well as landlords
• Ability to review work and provide feedback to lease accounting processor
• Ability to coordinate lease accounting work and delegate to processor(s) as needed
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume workload
• Ability to develop leadership skills while coordinating lease activities
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter requiring very minimal supervision
• Exhibits a sense of urgency, understands the importance of month-end closing deadlines
• Strong understanding of lease accounting concepts

Qualification & Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience with Oracle (or large ERP)/AMT (or major lease software)
• Working toward CPA license highly preferred
• Working toward Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferred
• Minimum two years of experience in accounting (e.g., processing invoices and requisitions, accounting reconciliations, payroll processing, vendor accounts, stop payments, journal/ledger maintenance and posting, etc.) and one year of experience with month-end close and audit preparedness
