Job Description:
The DNA (Data & Analytics) group is responsible for enabling RBC to be a data-driven organization. As part of this mission, DNA works with various lines of businesses (Personal & Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, Insurance, Capital Markets, etc…) to create and build data-driven solutions that serve our clients better. As part of the Calgary enterprise data team, you are diligent and passionate about delivering comprehensive suite of components that empower our product teams to deliver an exceptional user experience. The team will build and support data-driven products and services/API’s, tackle challenging and interesting data-related problems using RBC’s massive internal datasets (client relationships, user behavior across channels, transactions, etc….) and strategically partner with the business to enable client interactions to be informed by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

- Take proactive ownership of tasks at all stages in the delivery lifecycle that you are responsible for
- Work with design, product and tech teams to create elegant, interactive and high performing interfaces
- Work in a fast-paced setting where problem spaces are broad and often ambiguous.
- Proactive in your ability to adapt, are passionate about user experience, and capable of working independently and in a team setting.
- Demonstrate success in translating designs into highly intuitive and functional UIs across shared componentry, that are also designed for easy maintenance
- Develop necessary workflows and interfaces for customer data scientists, dev ops and machine learning engineers to handle a variety of operational tasks required for deploying and operating AI in production
- Ensure production code is held to the highest standard set within design engineering
Job Requirements:
- Proven relationship management skills and the ability to maintain successful partnerships
- Experience with building shared components or code for use outside your immediate team
- Background in Design Thinking or other human-centered methodologies
- 3-5yrs+ of demonstrated experience of engineering practices, continuous delivery and automated testing
- Experience in the financial services sector/corporate setting
- Experience leading design strategy and aligning cross-functional teams through projects with effective project management skills
- Experience in building decoupled, encapsulated and open components
- Acumen in analytics and quantitative research
- Graduate degree preferred (Masters and/or PhD) Software Engineering, Computer Science,
- Mechatronics or equivalent work experience
