Job Description:

The Asia Derivative Product Control team supports a number of the Equity Derivative businesses including the Single Name, Exotics, Index and Convertible Bonds desks, as well as the Corporate Equity desk which trades bespoke and complex products. The team acts as a guardian of the firm’s books and records by ensuring the appropriate accounting classification, timing and accuracy of economic transactions and events. The Asia Equity Derivative team consists of 3 product controllers in Hong Kong and 5 in Mumbai.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze, review and report financial information to the Business Unit, Senior Finance Management and other key stakeholders
• Ensure all control processes are executed in a timely and effective manner and that these are continually reviewed for opportunities to enhance the control environment
• Analyze the PNL Attribution, commentary and relate it with the market movement.
• Maintain oversight over the daily, weekly and monthly net revenue balance sheet reporting processes owned by the team members based in Mumbai
• Develop knowledge of technical accounting and disclosure processes.
• Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders including the Equity
• Derivative Traders, Operations and Other Finance groups (Valuation Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers, Treasury).

Job Requirements:

• Self-starter with ability to work autonomously, detail-oriented and willing to take ownership and accountability.
• A self-motivated personality and a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• A strong awareness and understanding of controls
• Confidence and well developed communication skills
• Experience of working effectively with other team members, including those based in a different location
• Experience dealing with derivatives (Equity, Commodity, Interest Rate or Credit)
• An accounting and/or mathematical background
