Job Description: Mattel, Inc. is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Packaging Designer to join the Dolls and Collectibles Packaging/Asset Creation team. The Dolls and Collectibles team focuses on delivering exciting innovative packaging and omnichannel assets for a wide range of licensed and internal IP brands such as Polly Pocket, Little Mommy, Harry Potter, Trolls, and Spirit. Through research, understanding consumer trends as well as the online and retail landscape, the team focuses on creating new and innovative packaging that translates into successful experiences, storytelling, and invites girls to imagine the many possibilities. Our process includes researching, trend shopping and ideating multiple concepts, following strategy guidelines from marketing and brand partners. Presenting packaging concepts is a daily function, and you must be comfortable and proficient in not only presenting in person but in digital, 2D and 3D formats to all cross functional partners and senior leadership. The ideal candidate will possess proven packaging design experience showing ability to work on challenging and fun kid’s products, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience working with overseas partners is also preferred. Job Responsibilities: Partner with product design & marketing counterparts to ensure package delivers on strategy Partner with E-comm, Marketing and Brand teams to help create assets for an omnichannel approach to brand engagement Assist other packaging designers with projects and design communication as necessary 3D render and/or physically comp packages for presentations (Adobe Dimension preferred) Create package concepts & brand statements that are relevant and trend forward Art direct photo shoots (product and/or talent) Art direct in-house & outside resources such as illustrators, photo re-touchers, and Asia counterparts to develop elements of package and E-comm Work with copywriters & engineers to create cohesive packaging/brand statements Work with design manager(s) to further develop designs and execute strategy Effectively communicate product strategy and features through package design/copy Job Requirements: Up to date on current trends graphics, advertising, fashion, technology, entertainment, social, etc. Basic 3D software knowledge (Adobe Dimension preferred) Team player (ability to work with immediate team members and cross functional partners) Ability to see the big picture while not losing focus of details Passion for design – creative thinker that strives for innovation 3+ years design experience and a Degree in Design or Arts (and/or) Graphic Design Experience within packaging discipline Ability to accept and give creative direction In-depth knowledge of Photoshop & Illustrator and the entire Adobe Suite Job Details: Company: Mattel Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Long Beach, CA, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here vacanciesforyou.net
