Job Description:

The primary function of the Inside Lawn and Garden Specialist is to possess an in-depth knowledge of products and related accessories in the selling of patio, outdoor power equipment, seasonal heating/cooling, grills, furniture, and other related products. You greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Inside Lawn and Garden Specialist will also provide superior customer service by assisting customers in selection, demonstration, and purchase of product including special orders and installations.
• You maximize departmental sales by encouraging the sales of related items and add-on sales as applicable to customer needs.
• You keep shelves fully stocked, fronted according to planogram and correctly priced.
• This position reports to an Assistant Store Manager and takes daily direction from a Department Manager. This position does not have direct reports.

Job Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in providing customer service including identifying and resolving customer complaints, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business.
• 2 years’ experience following up on outstanding or incomplete customer orders, sales, or installs.
• 1 year experience entering and submitting customer sales orders, including Special Order
• 2 years’ experience identifying and selling products based upon customer needs or plans.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year external experience in customer facing sales working with seasonal or related products
• 1 year experience promoting product related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
• 2 years’ experience in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.
