Job Description:
As the Inventory Controller, you will be working for JPL’s Mechanical Fabrication and Test Section, which maintains technical support facilities, and resources that provide the services required to fabricate, assemble, and test electro-mechanical developmental and flight hardware. This Section develops and matures equipment and technologies, which enable and enhance our fabrication and environmental test capability for current and future missions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Materials and Processing (M&P) to create and maintain fastener-related Standards & Process spec documents.
- Unpack, check and document goods received. Enter information into Oracle.
- Support projects for fabrication and test of all mechanical and electrical ground support equipment.
- Responsible for leading inventory analytics, controlling day-to-day inventory operations, and implementing inventory control protocols.
- Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, assess replenishment needs, and analyze frequent reporting by creating tools and processes for forecasting, identifying shortages and excess material.
- Pack and ship items using appropriate tools (containers, machinery, and packing materials such foam and popcorn).
- Responsible for performing complex physical or administrative tasks involved in the receiving, storing, distributing and shipping of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Ensure documentation is in compliance with regulations.ong impact on a functional organization due to development of innovative new methods and uses of technology, and/or policies.
Job Requirements:
- Familiarity with desktop computers and MS Office programs to perform basic operations such as: number 10 key and data input.
- Ability to work from prints and sketches and use measuring devices, as well as all shop tools.
- Must have some understanding, technical expertise and experience in the following areas: flight fastener hardware standards (e.g. NASA-STD-5020and NASA-STD-6008) inventory counts, dealing with customers, office software, and proficient at typing.
- Effective verbal and written communication and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualification & Experience:
- Requires a High School diploma with minimum of 10 years of related experience; or an Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a similar discipline with a minimum of 3 years related experience; related required training.
