We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the HSBC UK Legal Team. The role will sit within the Products and Digital Team of UK CMB Legal supporting the UK Commercial Banking Business and reporting into the Head of Products & Digital, UK CMB Legal.

Job Responsibilities:

• To represent the bank on appropriate industry forums, working groups and at industry events.
• To build relationships within the business and with stakeholders throughout the business and across risk functions;
• To identify, formulate, co-ordinate and communicate policies, procedures and controls to ensure that the Group’s exposure to legal risk is effectively managed;
• To be engaged on and oversee strategic and high profile business and industry transformation projects;

Job Requirements:

• With a requirement to provide prompt, commercial, practical and sometimes complex and / or specialised legal advice to CMB UK, to be successful in this role the candidate should be a qualified Solicitor (or barrister) with extensive PQE and experience gained either within a financial institution or top tier private practice
