Job Description: This position is being announced under FEMA's Cadre of On-call Response/Recovery Employee (CORE) Program. This is a temporary appointment in the Excepted Service, not to exceed 2 years, with the option to extend based on workload and funding availability. Veterans Preference does not apply to the CORE selection process. Job Responsibilities: Serving as an IT Specialist technical expert who is responsible for complex, state-of-the-art broadcast and multimedia systems administration functions enabling the development, management and operation of the media studio systems, including the Digital Imagery and Media on Demand, Broadcast Local Area Network, Multimedia Enterprise Solution, Media Management and Storage System, and the Media Playout Server System. Utilizing modeling and simulation tools and systems that generate and run simulation models. Providing guidance on system administration and IT architecture principles and concepts, new technologies, and project management principles. Presenting plans for integrating new server technology into existing architecture. Overseeing development and management of systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and security. Job Requirements: Travel will be required. You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card. You must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for this position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
