Job Description: Identify/develop/implement key strategic initiatives to provide cost savings, promote “Best in Class” processes, and improve/achieve overall business objectives. Provide back-up support to other transportation roles as designated. Job Responsibilities: Coordinate transportation activities with ExxonMobil Chemical Rail Planning and Operations (RPO) when joint involvement will result in mutual benefits areas of interface include fleet management (sizing, lease in/out, capital purchase), repair/maintenance, operations planning and execution, incident management, railroad service issues. Provide direction for Transportation Coordinator Logistics representative on efforts to develop Logistics Training curricula Provide other ad hoc support as needed Conduct rail transportation analyses to support new business opportunities Perform post-op analysis on executed strategies to validate initiative performance and achievement of objective/goals Support BPI activities by establishing rail car groups in accordance with the sequencing required in the prior cargo matrix. Coordinating with Business Compliance on potential incidents as needed. Provide advice and expertise to Customer Service, lube plants, Exel personnel, and others as needed Identify and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to meet ongoing business needs coordinate activities with S&D, Manufacturing, and other interface organizations Evaluate rail transportation trends/anomalies and understand their impact to the business operations Handle rail performance issues immediately and work with carriers to achieve agreeable solutions Pursue opportunities to reduce costs and seek ways to use rail transportation as a competitive advantage Work with the S&D organization to reduce frequency of emergency shipments and associated costs initiate action to improve on-time shipment and delivery statistics for rail freight Job Requirements: Ability to drive functional excellence through a willingness to aggressively pursue new and creative approaches to resolve problems. Understanding of overall network strategy, supply/demand balance, and plant operating constraints. APICS CPIM certification desired. Plant and/or Sales experience desired. Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment. Familiarity with basic computer load set, especially MS Excel, Access, and Power Point. Ability to build and execute queries, databases, and spreadsheets. Business, Marketing, Logistics, Engineering or other Technical degree. Ability to multi-task.
