Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Resiliency team, responsible for developing technology that helps millions of travelers to find the best hotel and flights at the right time for their next unforgettable trip.

Job Responsibilities:

• Empower and bring empathy to the group
• Build teams through hiring and people growth while balancing your ownership workload through delegation, and define and review individual and team goals (OKRs)
• Promote excellence and forward-thinking engineering, using technical writing to expose your team to a wider technical population inside and outside Expedia.
• Apply the AWS Well Architected framework across the organization
• Collaborate and share the roadmap success delivery with the wider functions, including Technical Product Managers and Product Managers
• Be a Technology Leader by driving the roadmap execution and running the project(s) while planning new ones
• Assist the team in driving further adoption of Site Reliability practices such as Chaos engineering, SLOs, Error Budgets, release safety, load testing, and disaster recovery strategies
• Lead on ‘what’ and ‘how’ and strive to bring the best out of the people that work with you

Job Requirements:

• Lead distributed teams, with shown experience mentoring and coaching
• Excellent background in Software Development, with a proven record in managing, design and roadmap execution
• Experience in site reliability engineering, taking advantage of chaos engineering principles and proactively running tests on applications and infrastructure
• Have a passion for solving sophisticated software engineering problems in a fast-paced changing environment
• Solid experience with Cloud computing on AWS, and large-scale, high-availability distributed architectures
• Experience with agile development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban, and you thrive working in an agile environment
