Enbridge Careers Canada – Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

In this role, you will provide electrical engineering expertise for Enbridge Canada Liquids Pipelines Operations and Projects to support safe and reliable operation of LP electrical assets. Support is focused on electrical power system infrastructure, power system protection engineering, and technical guidance with respect to electrical design codes, industry standards, and Enbridge standards and equipment specifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide power system analysis, relay coordination and arc flash studies.
• Provide power systems engineering and technical support.
• Solve, analyze, and prepare solutions for electrical issues related to medium voltage electrical assets operating, testing, and commissioning.
• Provide support for electrical system/asset reliability, quality, and electrical safety support.
• Serve as the focal point for regional electrical service activities performed by operations and projects ensuring all safety, quality, reliability and operational expectations are met.

Job Requirements:

• Self-motivated, growth mindset, and thrives in a dynamic changing environment with shifting priorities.
• Must be registered as a P.Eng. in the Province of Alberta.
• Effective interpersonal skills, as role requires collaboration with internal partners and working with external partners.
• Experienced in using electrical engineering analysis software ( experience with SKM Power Tools preferred) for performing power analysis, ground grid evaluations, arc hazard analysis studies and interpretation of study results.
• Exhibit analytical judgment to think in terms of systems and tactics for solving simple to more sophisticated engineering problems.
• 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering – power is required.
• Completion of an Engineering degree with a specialization in electrical systems from an accredited university or college.
• Knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards, including CEC, CSA Z462, IEEE, etc.
