Job Description:
The incumbent of this position serves in the Division of Care Coordination, Clinical Services Administration, Department of Behavioral Health (DBH). The incumbent is responsible for ensuring all consumers of DBH are able to access appropriate services. The DBH Access Helpline provides 24-hours, 7 day a week telephonic information and referral, crisis and suicide prevention counseling and access to dispatch and triage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes clinical knowledge of a range of behavioral health and substance use or co-occurring disorders treatment and recovery services.
- Provide clinical review and administrative monitoring of services to ensure consumers receive services in the least restrictive most integrated setting appropriate to their individual needs under the supervision of the Director.
- The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of complex client interactions, including counseling, level of care determinations, triage and crisis intervention.
- The incumbent utilizes knowledge of a range of mental health and psychosocial issues consumers face.
- Makes judgments based on care and legal requirements, clients’ needs, the crisis intervention and recovery model, and community resources.
- Conducts chart reviews of instance of care authorized for utilization purposes and case reviews for individuals that are identified as either over or under-utilizers of services.
- The work requires caring for clients who are severely mentally ill.
- Answers telephone HelpLine promptly and respectfully while triaging, assessing and coordinating care as needed for consumers, including interacting and follow up with 911 services, providers and other area services.
Job Requirements:
- As a basic requirement , all applicants must have successfully completed a four (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelors or higher degree which involved major study in an academic field related to health or allied sciences.as Professional Land Surveyor (LS) in the District of Columbia OR Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) Certification
- Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
- To be creditable, applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
- Examples of specialized experience include professional work in land surveying establishing, investigating and re-establishing land and property boundaries, and with preparing plats and legal descriptions for tracts of land.
- Current licensure As a basic requirement, all applicants must have successfully completed a four (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelors or higher degree which involved major study in an academic field related to health or allied sciences.
- This position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal grade level progression for the position to be filled.
- Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
