Job Description:

The IT Security Architect is responsible for design, implementation, and administration of all security-related enterprise infrastructure components within The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultancy to business units to develop and implement security controls, including risk management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Research, define, and document requirements and standards for products/technologies protecting electronic data at-rest and in-transit; review, refine, and update existing standards as needed to keep current.
  • Provide expert guidance for development and gathering of periodic security metrics, including validating metrics developed by peers as internal review.
  • Identify technical vulnerabilities in systems and appropriate solutions to eliminate or minimize their potential effects; identify and document direct and indirect risks to data protection and recommendations to remediate.
  • For security-related technologies and configurations, prepare documentation supporting design, development, and operations activities, including standard operating procedures to supplement vendor-provided resources.
  • Research, test, and recommend new products to address current and developing data protection needs; prepare and present appropriate documentation throughout product evaluation cycles.
  • Develop and present training materials for individuals implementing and/or operating security controls.
  • Provide secondary support to operations and deployment teams for deployments and troubleshooting.
  • Review log files to validate operations, and respond to security events as part of incident response team.
  • Investigate actual or potential information security violations as instructed; document findings of investigations with written reports including presentation of evidence summary and interpretation.
  • Support developing and maintaining the security and risk management program, including risk analysis processes based on industry knowledge of business practices/security posture.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to acquire a broad knowledge of the organization and demonstrate understanding of how the company works from a variety of perspectives. Ability to describe specific problems from the perspective of each involved stakeholder and gain agreement on the problem-solving process, risk assessment, decision points, and criteria. Ability to summarize and present key decision points for security technologies in commercial use to business line leaders to support risk management decisions.
  • Knowledge and ability to recognize and develop defenses against Internet and intranet security issues. Ability to develop and effectively lead solutions to protect the corporate environment from both external and internal attacks.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to effectively maintain a professional demeanor and work both individually and in a team.
  • Ability to summarize and communicate technical issues to both technical and business personnel, both verbally and in the form of standards and technical procedure documentation. Ability to recognize, understand, and communicate non-technical aspects of inquiries and assignments.
  • Substantial experience with application-aware firewall technologies and operating systems hardening.
  • Knowledge and ability to configure and administer basic setup and security for enterprise versions of Windows (Windows 7 and later, Server 2008 and later) and Linux server platforms (RedHat, SuSe, Ubuntu).
  • Ability to configure and manage various security tools for enterprise use including SEIM, vulnerability scanners, file integrity tools, IDS/IPS, and identity management systems.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Security from four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least eight total years of information technology experience.
  • At least six years of progressive technical information security experience.
  • Previous experience in a large, luxury resort setting.
