Job Description:
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Divisions Analyst. This is a financial analyst role supporting Chevron’s El Segundo Refinery as part of the Refinery Finance Team. This position is responsible for refinery operating expense and capital spend analysis, business performance insights, business planning and forecasting activities, and industry benchmarking efforts to support achievement of Manufacturing and Finance objectives. This role also performs ad hoc analysis and presentation for the Refinery Leadership Team and supports special projects tied to finance and business initiatives. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and strengthen business partnerships with multiple Refinery Finance teams, Refinery Leadership and Operations, Corporate Accounting Policy, and various other cross-functional groups.
Job Responsibilities:
- Improve financial fluency and acumen within the organization
- Provide timely counsel to business partners, including assessing and proactively identifying issues
- Identify and track value drivers and make recommendations for improvement
- Partner with the function to identify and implement process improvements, simplifications, and automation opportunities
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting with strong financial controls
- Drive good decision making through financial analysis and insights
Job Requirements:
- Extensive data analytics experience
- Ability to handle multiple job responsibilities, set priorities, maintain a high level of accomplishment, and implement process improvements.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Finance/Accounting
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Ability to listen carefully and to use clear, concise oral and written skills to convey facts, present positions and interpret policies.
- Ability to effectively interact with colleagues and management, providing clear, logical recommendations in a concise manner to stakeholders
- Corporate Finance/Accounting, Public Accounting or Advisory experience
- Ability to analyze financial information, uncover variance drivers, provide thoughtful and insightful analysis, and recommend or determine a course of action.
- Ability to relate financial results to operational events and applicable business models
- Demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn new tools & system functionality
