Job Description: The incumbent serves as the Associate Director for Science for the Division, as well as the senior science advisor to the Division Director, Deputy Director and other senior staff. The position is responsible for the initiation, monitoring and oversight of research projects in which the Division is involved, and in the application of research to practice. This position is a Temporary Promotion appointment NTE one (1) Year; Position may be extended but not made permanent. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the Associate Director for Science for the Division, as well as the senior science advisor to the Division Director, Deputy Director and other senior staff. Initiate, monitor and provide oversight of Division research projects and in the application of research to practice. Maintain liaisons with external researchers and organizations engaged in research in Division research areas, including statistics, survey methods, data science, confidentiality and privacy, and measurement. Represent the Division and the Center in interactions with officials of other Federal agencies, and high-ranking officials of state and local governments, concerning the application of mathematical and statistical theories, techniques, and methods of gathering and/or interpreting quantified information on various scientific and public health issues and programs. Job Requirements: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience designing, implementing, and collaborating on research projects; and experience disseminating comprehensive statistical reports and scientific manuscripts.
