Job Description:
The Information Security Architect is responsible for setting product strategy, prioritizing features, building consensus, and coordinating product schedules with design and engineering teammates. They are responsible for participating in technical visioning and planning, performing highly technical analyses and studies to develop security systems architecture including infrastructure, engineering, and development. The Architect helps establish frameworks directing the design and build of technical solutions and provides ongoing technical support and guidance to all technology teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Balances a variety of competing goals in a design including project timelines, scope and budget constraints, and system performance. Balances long-term department strategy and short-term project goals.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, transaction (i.e., point of sale), and benchmark and interface definition studies to formalize customer requirements into systems architecture specifications.
- Accountable for guiding and modeling the technical implementation of security solutions including hardware, software, network, and other supporting infrastructure
- Defines in written documents non-functional requirements (availability, interoperability, portability, manageability, scalability, maintainability, security, monitoring, SLAs, KPIs, regulatory and legal compliance) based on business vision, best practices, and enterprise architecture direction.
- Interacts and communicates effectively with internal and external customers and development teams to clarify business, operational, or technical requirements.
- Drives adoption of identified design patterns, standards, principles, and best practices throughout the technology organization.
- Keeps up on industry trends and current technological standards and best practices. Assists with assessment of industry standards for information models and their applicability to Casey’s.
- Perform analysis of APIs, data models and interoperable interfaces for specific projects, services and integration points.
- Maintains ongoing communication with project teams, verifying that what was designed was built and adjusting the solution architecture as appropriate throughout the project.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of business, customer or product requirements into total systems solutions with acknowledgement to information management and technical architecture.
Job Requirements:
- Strong skills in a broad set of development technologies such as PowerShell or Python and experience with scripting languages.
- Broad understanding of a spectrum of cybersecurity technologies including network/internet/endpoint security, security operations (i.e., SOC) systems, data security/cryptography, identity, and access management (IAM) and penetration testing/vulnerability scanning, and their hardware, software and operating systems requirements is required.
- Experience in specifying system performance requirements, utilization targets and system resource budget in and creating security interfaces.
- TOGAF certification, or related industry certification, is preferred.
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture concepts, web services and automated business processes and their orchestrations.
- At least five (5) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Between 3-4 years of technical leadership and/or architecture experience.
- Prior experience in defining architectures that satisfy security, scalability, high availability, and network management/monitoring requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Ability to take ownership of an assignment through to completion and work effectively with people from different departments, companies, and customer organizations.
- Solid knowledge and experience in the definition of Enterprise (business and technical) Architecture using best practice architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF.
- Experience with application and cloud security technologies and their architectural design processes is preferred. Knowledge of relevant security, regulatory and compliance matters as they relate to system design (PCI-DSS, SOX, OAUTH, SAML).
- Ability to solve complex problems with multiple complex abstract variables.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Strong skills in system modeling and architectural tradeoff analysis to include analysis of user impact.
