Job Description:

Blizzard is seeking a passionate archival assistant to join the team. As the Assistant Archivist, you will support the team in organizing, cataloging, preserving digital and physical assets from Blizzard Entertainment’s rich history. This unique role will also assist with campus art displays, the campus library, and with fulfilling digital asset requests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform archival, curatorial, or other duties as required
  • Assist Physical archivist with acquisitions, loans, assessing, cataloging, and storing physical assets
  • Assist in the campus library with checkouts, returns, cataloging, acquisitions, and the curation of the digital library
  • Participate in asset audits, retention schedules for both digital and physical assets
  • Aid in the acquisition and retrieval of digital items for archiving, preservation, and storage of assets
  • Facilitate and retrieve assets from individual development teams, digitize and catalog assets in Blizzard’s archival DAM system
  • Maintain documentation for established archival practices and ongoing updates
  • Assist Curator with special projects for events, larger scale projects and art gallery change outs
  • Promote archival initiatives and outreach throughout Blizzard
  • Work closely with internal clients for asset requests, reference research and digital asset deliveries
  • Assist in developing and maintaining metadata standards for cataloged digital assets
  • Improve access to digital assets for daily use, special projects, and initiatives within the Company

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of industry standard methodologies in cataloging, metadata standards, records management, and collections management
  • A methodically consistent approach to repetitive tasks; Accuracy and acute attention to detail
  • Possess high attention to detail with a proven ability to multi-task, work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Skilled at developing relationships, building trust, and partnering with external teams
  • Highly collaborative, flexible nature and a willingness to help others
  • Familiarity with Blizzard IP

Qualification & Experience:

  • Plus: ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library & Information Science, Archives & Records Administration, or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience working in an archive or library, preferably with digital collections
