Barclays Internship – Infra Engineer

Job Description:

The role is for a Infrastructure Engineer working in the team to build and deliver AWS infrastructure and Devops pipelines for next generation cloud native card processor being built from scratch

Job Responsibilities:

• Understand existing enterprise assets such as frameworks, patterns, subsystems and ensuring that the team uses them where appropriate.
• Build and deliver AWS infrastructure for next generation cloud native card processor being built from scratch
• Participate in the implementation of Infrastructure strategy and architecture vision.
• Support and deliver all devops pipelines for the product
• Strong Inter-personal skills to successfully collaborate will be key.
• On a daily basis the main interaction will be with feature team colleagues and product owners.
• Work closely with product consumers (application teams), Cyber security partners and
• Control tribe to ensure that the product delivered have the right feature sets, secure and adhere to operational standards
• Establish relationships with key stakeholders within Infrastrucure team and across the technology organisation.

Job Requirements:

• Hands on experience on latest CI-CD tools
• AWS certified or relevant Experience, including AWS Cloud Formation.
• Experience with Core AWS services
• Good background in Linus/Unix Administration. Strong knowledge of shell scripting and Linux
• Experience in architecting systems that will operate at scale both in terms of processing volumes and number of instances deployed.
• Strong notion of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS etc.)
• Experience with Docker & Kuberenetes. Having used EKS in the past is a plus
• Knowledge of writing Infrastructure as code (IaC) using Cloudformation
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus and ELK Stack
• Past experience with serverless approaches using AWS Lambda and Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM) is a plus
