Job Description:

The engineer will contribute to the design projects related to diverse electronic systems, printed circuit boards, and peripheral devices. The engineer will work with cross-functional team members from System Engineering, System Integration, Manufacturing, Field Service, Design Quality, and Supply Chain to support the in-vitro diagnostic product lines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates supplier capabilities.
  • Contributes to designs of innovative solutions addressing obsolescence, reliability, manufacturing, and cost reductions for electronic systems.
  • Completes design projects while meeting schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Works with suppliers during development to ensure product manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT).
  • Troubleshoots and performs root-cause analyses on product failures occurring in design verification, manufacturing, and field.
  • Reviews, generates, and approves product drawings, schematics, layouts, and specifications.
  • Occasionally travels to suppliers, customer sites, or manufacturing sites.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Familiarity with control and digital communication subsystems
  • 0-2 related work experience
  • Familiarity with PCB assemblies, layouts, fabrications, and PCB manufacturing
  • Familiarity with designing mixed-signal systems
  • Familiarity with programmable logic devices and microprocessors
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Applies engineering technical knowledge for specified engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with position, proximity, and pressure sensors
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with motor control and temperature control circuits
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and biologics is desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or closely related discipline preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC, ESD, and transient suppression
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment desired
